They work with the motive of helping people understand the nature of their difficulties that they are facing and gain insight and learn the skills to minimize the effect of those problems.Psychologists, at times, also work in tandem with several health service providers like the physicians and psychiatrists for better results. They are the only ones who are trained exclusively to develop, research and administer psychological tests and therapy that asses a person’s intelligence, personality, mental and emotional disorders, etc.

Who are counsellors?

Counsellors are versatile with diverse backgrounds. They may have a doctoral level degree from different counselings programs or a master’s degree. Professionals may also refer themselves as a ‘counsellor’ or a ‘therapist’ but they may or may not have training in assessing or treating mental issues.
